Lake Success, New York, May 28, 2002… Park Electrochemical Corp. (NYSE - PKE) announced that Silvio Bertling has joined the company as Senior OEM Design Engineer effective May 6, 2002. In this position, Mr. Bertling will be working with Park's customers, and OEM and EMS designers, to improve the manufacturability and cost performance of their complex printed circuit boards. He will also be responsible for presenting OEM requirements to the Park/Nelco business units and the Park/Nelco R&D organization. Mr. Bertling will report to Fred Hickman, the company's VP of OEM Marketing and Technology and will have his offices at Neltec, Inc. in Tempe, Arizona.

Mr. Bertling received his Masters Degree in Business from VWA Regensburg in Germany, and his Bachelors degree in Electronics/Science from RFZ Berlin in Germany. He brings to this position a solid background in computers along with a wealth of experience in the electronics industry. Previously Mr. Bertling was employed with Ditron Manufacturing as Production Manager, with Viata as Director of Strategic Planning, and with Hypercom as both a Project Manager and Senior PCB Designer.
