DOW NAMES DIELECTRIC POLYMERS AS AUTHORIZED, SMALL QUANTITY DISTRIBUTOR FOR ADHESIVE FILMS LINE
MIDLAND, Michigan, May 3, 1999...The Dow Chemical Company has selected Dielectric Polymers, Inc., of Holyoke, Mass., as its authorized, small quantity distributor for the company’s DOW Adhesive Films (DAF) product line. DAF is used by a wide range of market segments including automotive, construction, electrical/electronics, medical and packaging. The extensive DAF product line includes thermoplastic heat sealing films in both blown and cast film versions. The films are available in widths up to 76 inches.
DOW Adhesive Films are hot melt adhesives in a clean, dry, non-tacky form, activated by a combination of heat and pressure. They are designed to be applied by in-line lamination to web or stock substrates, by one-step molding, or by thermal bonding in a press. Each film provides the precise one-side or two-side adhesion required for specific industrial or commercial applications.
According to James Ferraco, national sales manager for Dow’s Adhesive Films, Dielectric Polymers’ converting capabilities greatly complement the requirements established by Dow’s current customer base. “The company’s responsiveness was a primary factor in our decision. Their commitment to helping us grow the DAF business by introducing our products into new markets and applications with a focus on small volume customers also played a major role. Dielectric Polymers produces an extensive line of acrylic transfer pressure-sensitive and self-wound silicone coated films for the automotive, electronics, graphic arts, aerospace and industrial markets. Dielectric Polymers, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Park Electrochemical Corp.
