PARK ELECTROCHEMICAL ANNOUNCES GLOBALIZATION OF DIGITAL BROADBAND PRODUCT LINE

LAKE SUCCESS, New York, January 25, 2001…Park Electrochemical Corp. (NYSE-PKE) announced the globalization of the manufacturing and marketing of its digital broadband product line, particularly its Nelco N4000-13 and N4000-13SI™ products. The company’s digital broadband product line is used for sophisticated high-speed, low-loss, high bandwidth electronic infrastructure applications, especially in the telecommunications, networking and internet industries.

N4000-13 and N4000-13SI™ have historically been manufactured and marketed exclusively by the company’s Neltec, Inc. subsidiary located in Tempe, Arizona. (Neltec specializes in the introduction, manufacturing and marketing of the company’s highest technology and most elegant product lines.) While the company’s N4000-13 product line will continue to be manufactured and marketed by Neltec, the N4000-13 product line is now also being manufactured and marketed by the following of the company’s subsidiaries: Nelco Products Pte. Ltd. located in Singapore, Nelco Products, Inc. located in Fullerton, California, and New England Laminates Co., Inc. located in Newburgh, New York and Tempe, Arizona. The company also plans to begin the marketing and manufacturing of the N4000-13 product line at its Nelco, S.A. subsidiary in the very near future. Nelco, S.A. is located in Mirebeau, France.

Robert Forcier, Park’s Senior Vice President, OEM Marketing and Technology, said, “The world’s leading electronic OEMs continue to develop and roll out increasingly more powerful and sophisticated systems, such as optical routers and switches, storage networks and wireless devices. These systems are capable of operating and computing in the 1 GHz to 40 GHz range. In order to facilitate this high-speed operation and computing, OEMs are designing digital broadband materials, such as our N4000-13 and N4000-13SI™ products, into these systems. The trend toward increasingly higher speed and more powerful electronic systems has created very strong demand for our digital broadband product line around the world. As a result, the sales of our digital broadband product line have skyrocketed in the last year.”

Mr. Forcier continued, “The globalization of the manufacturing and marketing of our N4000-13 product line provides the world market for high-speed, low-loss digital broadband materials with a very significant amount of manufacturing capacity for these materials right now! This is particularly significant considering the large expansions of our facilities which recently have been completed in Singapore and which are currently ramping up in New York, California and Arizona. In addition, the globalization of our N4000-13 product line provides our customers and OEMs in all regions of the world with the very deep local sales and technical support needed to succeed with this new and rapidly growing technology.”
